The WREC Effect
The Western Real Estate Club (WREC) is the largest real estate student organization at Western University and the only real estate club accessible to all undergraduate students across Western, Huron, and King’s. We bring together curious, ambitious students passionate about exploring the dynamic world of commercial real estate.

Our mission is to bridge academic learning with real-world industry practice across every major asset class, including multifamily, retail, office, industrial, development, and land. We empower our members by hosting practical workshops, hands-on "how-to" sessions, firm visits, and company information sessions. Through these initiatives, WREC creates a collaborative network where students connect with peers, engage directly with working industry professionals, and gain the practical skills and connections needed to thrive in commercial real estate.
Our Approach
Key Focus Areas

01
Education
Our club offers foundational learning designed to help undergraduates transition smoothly from academic concepts to real-world commercial real estate practices. Through structured technical workshops, industry guest speakers, and a dedicated analyst program, members cultivate core skills in commercial real estate analysis, market research, and actionable results. This practical experience directly translates into competitive advantages for summer internships and early-career opportunities.
02
Networking & Industry Engagement
We facilitate high-impact networking opportunities that connect driven students with leading industry professionals and premier firms. Through trips to major markets like Toronto and New York, our members gain direct access to firms, corporate headquarters, and site visits. Additionally, on-campus guest speakers and alumni sessions allow students to build meaningful professional relationships.
03
Leadership
We foster leadership through defined roles including Director, Head Analyst, and Analyst positions. Members lead projects, manage timelines, and guide fellow students through collaborative initiatives. Working on research and administrative projects helps our members build essential skills in communication, teamwork, and project management.Â
